(ABA) Applied Behavior Analytic Therapy

CBC provides Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) therapy services with emphasis on Skinner’s analysis of verbal behavior. We use the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills-Revised as well as the VB-Mapp as a tool to assess your child's level and progress.

Our treatment emphasizes the role of motivation in your child’s learning and focuses on functional communication training. Therapeutic time is divided between teaching around the house/center (natural environment training-NET), structured teaching (intensive table teaching-ITT) and community practice.
The success of our treatment program is in part due to data collection and modification of procedures to ensure the most rapid learning of skills.  We offer a range of groups and programs in order to teach group and individual learning skills.
We have 1:1 ABA programs, 2:1 programs, social classes and language groups and a new introduction is our small class of 4 children using ABA.

If students attend a mainstream or remedial school we offer a shadowing program with constant school consultation. This way we can ensure that your child will reach their full potential in a school setting If choosing CBC as your choice of intervention for your child, you are choosing an intervention (ABA) that has shown scientifically to be the most effective treatment program that there is.  Making CBC your choice of intervention, you are choosing an intervention that has shown scientifically to be the most effective treatment available today. Instead of following the latest fad or therapy that lack research you will be investing energy in a program that has been shown time and time again to the number 1 treatment.

We offer a multi-disciplinary approach, which means that we recognize that there is often a need to utilise the expertise of other professionals across disciplines, who all share a similar philosophy to the treatment of autism. Therefore many children who receive behavioural intervention services will also receive speech therapy and occupational therapy to address the various areas of deficits. We feel that this creates a comprehensive program that addresses all the developmental needs of the child.
